THE AIRCRAFT
Skytraders operate a fleet of state of the art aircraft that are maintained to the highest engineering standards.
The A319 CJ and two CASA 212 fly in support of the Australian Government’s Antarctic program during the Austral Summer (November - March).
The A319 CJ operates a weekly flight from Hobart in Tasmania to a blue-ice runway located at Wilkins, Antarctica that serves as the hub for the annual Antarctic program. This fact means that the A319 CJ is available for private charter or use by other government agencies for periods throughout the summer season and uninterrupted availability during the Austral winter.
The CASA 212’s are ski equipped, glass cockpit aircraft certified for operation on skis and used to provide air services between stations and to remote outfield locations . Outside of the Antarctic program the CASA 212 are available for private charter. These aircraft are an ideal platform for operations requiring STOL performance or aerial survey and search and rescue work.
