Operation

Based primarily at Melbourne and Hobart airports, Skytraders is the holder of an Australian Air Operators Certificate (AOC). The company has been judged by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority to have met the Operating and Engineering requirements necessary for flights to be conducted up to 180 EDTO (ETOP).

The airline has maintained a flawless safety record, despite the challenges of operating in the Antarctic region where flying conditions are accepted as being the most challenging on earth due to issues of weather, surface and definition.

Skytraders has developed highly specialised expertise in the broadest range of aviation activities, quite unique compared to that of any other carrier. The fact that Skytraders has continued to grow over three consecutive decades speaks to the organisations high standards of consistency and safety, whilst standing in stark contrast to an industry which has been historically plagued by financial collapse, often accompanied by the reduced operating and safety standards which form an integral part of commercial stress.

New markets resultant from expanding relations with the United States, Italian, French and Chinese Antarctic programmes have combined with favourable benchmarking against competitors and high quality management to present enormous growth potential in the very highly specialist Antarctic aviation theatre of operations.
