An additional option is 28 reclining business class seats along with 8 large internal cargo containers installed in the rear of the aircraft . Developed as a result of Skytraders' heritage of innovation in the air transport industry this people and freight mix is ideally suited for groups with large quantities of specialist cargo such as is often required in the entertainment and film industries. The actual number of seats can be varied to meet specific customer needs as can the number of cargo containers. The Skytraders A319/ACJ has a configuration to meet your needs just call us to discuss your exact requirements.

Throughout the Austral summer [ October-February ] our aircraft operates a weekly flight from Hobart in Tasmania to a blue-ice runway located at Wilkins Antarctica that serves as the hub for our annual Antarctic programme. At Wilkins, scientists board one of two Skytraders ski-equipped CASA 212 aircraft that will carry them on to the Australian stations at Davis and Casey or perhaps to remote outfield locations where they will conduct cold-climate science in support of the ongoing study of global climate change. The need to minimise time spent on the ground in potentially harsh Antarctic conditions means that a round-trip is completed in around 10 hours thereby minimising the amount of time that the aircraft is away from mainland Australia. This fact means that the A319/ACJ is available for corporate charter or use by other government agencies for the vast majority of the summer season, in addition to its open availability during the Austral winter.

CASA 212-400

The C-212 is designed as a light military transport aircraft that can operate in areas lacking in infrastructure and on unpaved runways.

In order to meet these requirements, the C-212 was designed with high-wing configuration and fixed landing gear, and is fitted with turbo-prop engines, STOL characteristics and incorporates simple and reliable systems.

Its spacious, constant section cabin is perfectly complemented by the rear ramp which enables varied transport tasks to be carried out. Its large cargo capacity, means that the C-212 can be fully integrated into any logistical transport system.

The new C-212 Series 400 is fitted with two Allied Signal TPE-331-12JR-701C engines, that improve the aircraft's hot and high performance levels.

New avionics incorporate electronic flight instruments system (EFIS) on four displays. The Integrated Engine Data and Warnings Indication System (IEDS) uses two displays to present engine parameters and aircraft warnings, which improves reliability and maintainability.

The C-212 is an excellent platform for developing and integrating a wide variety of versions such as the Maritime Patrol (Patrullero), Electronic Warfare (ESM/ECM and ELINT/COMINT), Navigation School, Aerial Survey, Pollution Control, etc.

The C-212 combines the advantages of new technology with the experience gained from more than 2.5 million flight hours logged by more than 460 C-212 aircraft sold to 87 operators in 42 countries.

Skytraders have developed a retractable ski system for the CASA 212 - the first transport category aircraft to be put on skis in 40 years. The innovative ski design, allows takeoffs from wheeled runways to a landing on snow or vice versa.

Skytraders' two CASA 212-400s on skis or wheels are available for charter on once off or contract, anywhere in the world, from approximately April to August when they are not in the Antarctic. Please contact us for pricing or further information on the capabilities of this workhorse.
